Verawood is a tree native to South America used in pharmaceutical preparations of herbal teas, but it’s also used for tool handles, bearings, bushings and boatbuilding. Verawood color can range from a pale yellowish olive, to a deeper forest green or dark brown to almost black. The color tends to darken with age, especially upon exposure to light.
Extremely popular with cabinetmakers. Cherry is easy to work, fine textured, strong and fairly durable. Highly rated in all working properties including wood bending and turning. Becomes darker and richer with age. The Cherry (American Black) tree grows in Eastern USA, Eastern Canada, and reaches heights of up to 100 feet, about 80 feet average, with a tall trunk of about 24″ in diameter.
*Due to the season and age of the wood chosen for your unique WeWood Timepiece, colors may be darker or lighter (within reason and hue) than the photo. The sun, temperature, and climate all play huge roles in the color changing process.
